Mark was recognised as a finalist in the International Business Award category, which recognises an individual who has made a significant contribution to international business, benefiting Western Australia.

Mark Hansen has over 21 years of experience with information management systems for private and public enterprises. He has participated in almost every aspect of delivering technology solutions, having performed roles in software design, development, implementation, support, project management, client management, presales and sales. Smartsoftware, an international provider of software and service solutions for the Engineering, Architectural and Professional Services sector announced today that they have partnered with US software company Newforma to bring a unique Project Information Management system to the Australian AEC market.

Newforma’s flagship product, Newforma™ Project Center was designed to create a more productive environment for project-based teams by organising project information, facilitating information exchange, and enabling efficient project process. This system was developed after extensive client interviews to identify and validate the key issues facing AEC Project Managers. These discussions revealed that time-consuming information searches, disconnected project email, scattered project files and awkward handling of transmittals were among the main sources of disruption, frustration and inefficiency.

To ensure that these issues also applied locally, Smartsoftware conducted their own research with a dozen leading Australian and New Zealand architectural and engineering firms. The results were clear; managers easily identified with the difficulty of finding the right information quickly and easily, having project specific e-mail disconnected from other project data and the project team constantly exceeding their Inbox size. This reaction signalled to Smartsoftware that there was an urgent need to provide a solution that addressed these important issues.

As Mark Hansen, Smartsoftware’s General Manager explains, "We saw that by taking on this innovative product and combining it with our existing business management software, that we could really offer our clients significant value. Argest Technical Services, a Building and Compliance management company based in Wellington, NZ is the first in the region to implement the system. Tom Ludlow, Argest’s Operations Manager said "we were searching for a solution that eased the burden of managing project information. Deltek Insight 2007 Annual Conference Concludes After Resounding Success

Deltek Announces Year-End Total Revenue Exceeding $225M, a 50+% Increase from 2005

HERNDON, VA  — Deltek, the leading provider of enterprise management software for project-focused organizations, today announced total unaudited revenue exceeding $225 million for its fiscal year ending Dec. 31, 2006, an increase in excess of 50 percent over the previous year. License revenue increased approximately 70 percent over the prior year. Revenues from professional services and maintenance were also significantly higher on a comparative basis.

This is the third consecutive year that Deltek’s growth has exceeded 20 percent. Deltek’s 2005 total revenue was $152 million, a 25 percent increase over 2004.
